Engine No. 5 was built with Stephenson valve gear. ALCO records show a tractive effort of 17,116 lbs. and an engine weight of 95,000 lbs. * Prior to June, 1918, operating pressure was reduced to 175 lbs. A Loco Light generator, Model "C" 450 watt, was installed in December of 1918. A Pyle National generator, Type E 1500 watt, was installed in January of 1924. A steel cab was installed in October of 1925. Engine No. 5 was last used on September 22, 1930 Engine No. 5 was sold to Luray Iron & Metal Company in November of 1939. |
