The 1945 Annual Report listed Freight Locomotive Miles (other than steam) as 320 miles.
The following dieseil locomotives were tested by the M&PA:
Canton Railroad No. 30 (Baldwin Locomotive Works VO 1000) was tested November 14 through 17, 1945. The engine was sold to the Patapsco & Back Rivers Railroad as their No. 32 in 1953, and sold back to Canton Railroad as No. 32 in 1975.
Baltimore & Ohio Railroad No. 401 (EMC NW2) was tested February 4 through 7, 1946. The unit was renumbered to No. 9501 in 1957. This unit is now at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
Lima-Hamilton demonstrator No. 1001 was tested February 13 through 18, 1950. Unit was sold to Armco Steel and renumbered No. 707.
